What file is correct for the CT125 2024 model?

Honda do not publish the service manual on Motopub. Instead it is available for sale in print from Helm:

There is a scan of the 2021 service manual linked to other post, but not one for the 2023/2024 model.

Yikes... $50 Bucks for the manual. Another 75 for 'shipping and handling' for a total of $123USD works out to around $160 CAD.... o_O

Worth it?

Assuming all goes well, the first maintenance interval where it would be of most use isn't until 4k miles. That buys you some time to review the 2021-2022 service manual and see just how much of it you'd actually make use of. For specs that are different like the valve clearances, you can find them documented on this forum or ask nicely of someone to look the spec up.

I just bought a 24 CT125 and have been searching for a service manual. Information offered here is the first that I've seen which is actually helpful. Chinjab asks the fair question. Worth it? How much and what changed from 2022? dmonkey, thank you.

I have several different Honda products, including 2 snowblowers, and a 2024 Honda Recon and have service manuals for all of them. They are very detailed and if you ever need or plan to do any work, be that upgrades or just repair and maintenance yourself I think they are worth it. If however you always take your bike to the dealer then probably not. I still haven't bought the service manual for the 2024 Trail but it is on my list of must have's.

I bought the 23-24 service manual a couple weeks ago. For the shipping price, you'd think they would use something other than USPS. I know they didn't pay that much to ship it.

"Worth it" is of course going to be a different decision process for each owner. I try to buy the service manual for any vehicle I own. Ideally I end up with a print version for reference at home, and a digital version for on the road, though either or both options are not always available. That's just my personal preference. I'm someone who reads and writes technical documentation and one of my bikes is plated "RTFM" to reflect that.

Many of the model year differences are called out in https://hondatrail125.com/index.php...-downloads-owners-service-parts-catalog.1189/

Some of the notable changes in terms of regular maintenance for the JA65 are the addition of a disposable oil filter that needs changing, different oil change capacity depending on filter vs no filter change (noted in the owner's manual), a different spark plug (noted in the owner's manual), and different valve clearances (noted on the swingarm sticker). If you are replacing parts and need to know what gasket to order, a freely available online parts fiche/catalog will be your source for that information rather than the service manual, so IMO the JA55 service manual probably carries over well to cover the basics of the JA65 and any other information you need is likely already on this forum or someone would be willing to provide it if you really wanted to get by without the service manual. There are even YouTube videos that will walk you through many of the maintenance items.

Personally, if I added a JA65 to my fleet, I'd drop the $$ on the service manual specific to it even with knowing it's not much different from the JA55 one. The service manual + common manual + owner's manual end up being very comprehensive, and if you have the correct manual for your specific model then the information is more easily available and you can use it as a source of truth rather than needing to validate something you found online. As much as I think Helm's shipping cost is ridiculous when they could probably be using very inexpensive USPS media mail, I support right to repair and "vote with my dollar" that I want Honda and their bookstore partner to continue to make manuals available for purchase by the general public. Everything I've bought from Helm Inc has shipped FedEx.

Shipping them USPS Media Mail would be slow, but probably a small fraction of the $80+. The service manuals for my 2 Honda snowblowers came direct from Honda, were $50 each, and FREE shipping! The Recon was from Helm, and no doubt in my mind a money grab. I always figured it was just AK and HI that they did that to which is typical, but it appears it is everybody..

Mine came flat rate priority which is $8.50. They just charge the same shipping regardless of however much it actually costs.

Mine arrived in the mail this week. Looks pretty good, but not a step-by-step affair if you are looking for specifics. Basically provides exploded diagrams for all aspects, torque settings pointed out, warnings and specific tools required.

“Refer to the Honda general service manual” or something like that seems to be all over the specific manual

Just a question... is it 'legal' for those of us to post pics from the service manual to folks who ask for specifics?

I have the Honda branded 2023-2024 service manual I purchased from Helm. I found it to be inadequate especially in regards to the maintenance section. For instance I couldn't find any instructions regarding the clutch adjustment screw located on the right side case. I always buy the factory manual whenever I purchase a motorcycle and have found them to be invaluable with the exception of this one.
