the abs light is flashing on my new bike? only 87 miles. Everything seems to be working just fine. If I shut it off it works as it should and then starts to flash after a mile or so. Any ideas?

Here's all I could find in the manual:

If the indicator operates in one of the following ways, you may have a serious problem with the ABS. Reduce your speed and have your vehicle inspected by your dealer as soon as possible.
  • ● Indicator comes on or starts flashing while riding.
  • ● Indicator does not come on when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
  • ● Indicator does not go off at speeds above 6 mph (10 km/h).
If the ABS indicator stays on, your brakes will continue to work as a conventional system, but without the anti-locking function.
The ABS indicator may flash if you turn the rear wheel while the rear wheel is lifted off the ground. In this case, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and then to the ON position again. The ABS indicator will go off after your speed reaches 19 mph (30 km/h).

Might be more info in the service manual, https://hondatrail125.com/index.php?threads/service-manual.144/

87 miles sounds like a trip to the dealer and let them deal with it. Hopefully not a big deal!

You could also check the front wheel speed sensor for any obstruction or damage, just chase the cable down the side of the fork that the brake caliper is on.

Thanks for the input. I checked the manual first thing and it provided no clues. The speed sensor and wiring to the headlight nacelle appears to be clean and free of damage or debris. I will have to swing by the dealer this week and see what's up.
Brakes just slow you down.
