Has anyone changed their air intake or removed it and added a mushroom filter?

I have, but if you don't have a fuel controller I don't recommend it. I scored my piston on my stock cylinder with the foam pod filter directly on the throttle body. Was running WOT for a couple of miles and I guess the stock ecu wasn't correcting enough, running lean and hot.

The air filter? I put on the uni pod filter, fitted it straight onto the throttle body20220707_201346.jpg

After I scored that cylinder and piston I went with a 143 yuminashi kit and the aracer standalone ecu to control the fuelling
I also have a different (bigger) throttle body now which required a bigger diameter air filter, so now I have a k&n

What did the 143 kit do for you performance wise? I have been looking at something like this.

For the most part, if you just do the 143 + the pcx 150 injector, it'll be more Torquey, definitely noticeable. Top speed might improve some but not significantly, maybe a couple of mph.

yup. add a 238 cam and its even better midrange. TB cam is too high in the rpm band for the stock ecm to cope with. ask how i know.

Is the throttle body a 28mm from takagawa? Wondering if adding one of these to the stock head would make a difference and have it breath a little better.
