Does anyone have a good source for these besides eBay? I'd like to find one or two so I have a better place to put my helmet while parked temporarily (I know about the extension but it's a pain to get out every time to use).

I have the H2C ones, more expensive and distant than the eBay ones you linked.
One is mounted where shown in the photo, and one mounted where the snorkel attaches to the rear rack. I use them to temporarily hang items like shopping bags while loading the bike. I don't use them to hold my helmet, feel much more comfortable hanging the helmet from the mirror - either by the buckled chin strap, or with the mirror through the front opening on my full face helmet. Would normally even consider hanging the helmet from a hand grip, but I have Barkbusters that block that option.

I always keep my helmet chain attached under the seat. Both ends through the hoop. When not in use it sticks out a smidge on the left but doesn't get in the way of anything and frees up the toolbox for that thing im going to put in there one day.

i mean, if you are just going to leave it on the bike, not locked, use the handlebar? thats what i do. as far as that part.. it doesnt thread into a support in the frame, only plastic bodywork. what you can do it use a rear spool or a bar end w a long bolt. I personally wouldn't do it.

I have these two on my bikes, I needed to put two small thin washers under each one, as the oem bolt steps down In size at the end , going between the plastic. The way the sackhanger Is made, it is not stepped down and will press against the plastic full force when tightened, but the washers makes it work just fine, they set into the smaller recessed hole and just barely come above the plastic, giving the stand-off needed to prevent over tightening the screw and damaging the plastic. Good price for two and they are aluminum. I almost sent these back, but I was able to make them work. They solid mounted and work great for their intended purpose.
