Any experience with this “long” seat?

Hey folks, wondering if anyone on the forum has tried this version of the CT125 long seat? I’ve seen it floating around on various sites since the Trail came out, Beez, ebay, etc, but I’ve only heard from people who have the Morolordd version of a long seat instead.IMG_6295.jpegIMG_6296.jpegIMG_6298.jpeg
I have the Motolordd seat already and I’ve never been 100% with it, so I’m looking for an alternative. It’s just an expensive international shipping gamble if the one above is crap quality or uncomfortable.

I haven't, but I think that's what this guy is running in Japan and has tons of videos of:

I would be wary of how it distributes body weight to the shock mounts. It's replacing the OEM rear carrier which has similar tabs to the shock mounts, but the OEM rear carrier is only rated for 44 lbs.

Can I ask where you got that center rack bag? I would like to get one.

So that photo isn't of my bike, but the bag in that picture comes from this product:
BRC-C492-Center Carrier and bag for HONDA C125 バッグ センターキャリア(配送料込み) – 8ft Weekend
which includes the metal center rack as well.

There's another similar Honda logo-branded bag that you'll see frequently used with a center rack (comes in red, black, and cream), but just like the bag above, they are more shaped for the curved plastic of the Super Cub, rather than the angular center plastic of the Trail, but people make them work.

Curious what you decided? I'm a new CT owner, and definitely need a longer seat. Saw the thread about cutting off the grab bar, filliing the Morolordd seat with extra foam, etc. Also found an option on Beez, but Im stateside and shipping doubled the cost.

I haven't bitten the bullet on this version of the long seat yet. I'd really like to hear from someone who's personally used it about its fit/finish and how comfortable it is before spending $200+. The Motolord seat (after cutting off the rack bar and modifying it with foam in its place is working well enough for now. My biggest issue is that it's not quiiiite long enough, so when I have a passenger on it, their body puts me in a very awkward forward position where I feel like I'm sitting on top of the handlebars. This seat (from pictures anyway), looks to give maybe 2-3" more room in the back.

Man the seating position is the only bummer. For me it's almost perfect but not quite. I am 5'9. I feel like I need it to be back just a bit more, but it isn't. The stock seat as well. It's ok. Could be more comfy. Again not horrible, but could be more comfy c'mon Honda. And that bar is right there. If the seat was back just a bit more I could live with the seat and I like the back carrier plate a lot actually I've no interest in another seat there and having people on the back.

I see. Can you elaborate on that mod? What did you do exactly.. I've heard some people they flip around the mounting bracket? Something like that.

And, did it change the riding experience at all for handling/turning/weight etc.

I'm keen to do this.

That's what I did. You can also rotate the handlebars slightly in the mount.

I found standing on the pegs much easier. The bars are still too low for my 6'0" frame to do it the way I'd normally do it on, say, a V-Strom, but without additional mods it pretty much ticks all the boxes.

Handling, turning, weight, everything else feels pretty much the same, except I have a slightly better ergonomic position. The only other unintended side effect is rotating the mount will cover your fork caps, so if you're thinking of adding preload, do that before or during the handlebar mount mod.

Realize this is an old thread now, but wanted to report on the Long Seat from 8ft weekend.
Downside: took forever to arrive (ordered in may, arrived in late june). the team there took several days to respond to emails, to the point I was ready to cancel the order and flag them as fraudulent. It got better, though. Just be prepared to be patient…really patient.
Upside: Game changer! Im 6’2” and the oem seat just feels tiny and cramps the cockpit. Now i have room for much better riding position. Seat is comfortable - its no Corbin, but feels better than OEM for sure. I also got the tail rack, so the combo changes up the look in a way I really like. Form and function.
Installation: maybe an hour? all pretty simple with just a few bolts, loosening up the rear shock mount to remove factory rack and install new.
Next up: Need to do something about the snorkel. From factory, the snorkel ends under the rear rack. this new rack is skinnier, no place to attach the snorkel box. I think i can do without the full snorkel, but need some ideas on an airfilter to attach to the intake.
Worth the wait and hassle for sure.

There's a snorkel delete kit that should solve your problem. Obvious downsides and upsides with deep water traverse.

Hey thanks for the update trailrabbitt, that's great to hear that it's an improvement for us tall folk (despite the shipping delay)! Looks like decent enough quality as well.

Funny you mention the snorkel, I modified mine and was just about to post about it on here. I also removed my snorkel when I replaced my rear shocks, and never felt like putting it back on. As much as I'd like to imagine myself the ever-intrepid, adventurous explorer braving into the wilds, if I ever find myself NEEDING that snorkel because I'm in 2+ feet of standing water, I've done something very wrong and I'm not where I want to be. That Zeta duct has been out of stock for a while and the ETA was 4 months last I checked, so enter my solution:

IMG_6589.JPG

IMG_6590.JPG

I bought this rubber intake cover from 8ftweekend: BRC-C577-Air Filter Cover for CT125 Air Filter Cap (shipping included) – 8ft Weekend
It matches the aesthetic of the stock snorkel rubber exactly, and actually has 4 holes "drilled" in the underside to still act as an intake and not just a plug (which would obviously be pointless).
Similar to you, the biggest issue was the shipping: Ordered June 3, shipped June 22, arrived June 29.

The 4 holes on the underside were not satisfactory for me, so I dremeled out the back and added a grill that I fashioned out of an old metal mesh business card holder from Staples I had laying around.
Superglued that sucker in place and I'm really happy with how it turned out!

“As much as I'd like to imagine myself the ever-intrepid, adventurous explorer…” Same! Love the idea of a little water crossing but i dont plan to swim the bike :). Both snorkel delete kits (factory and hand built) look great - nice work Stopper. I assume there’s an actual air filter in there somewhere deeper than the snorkel? I like to think Im getting a little extra boost from the unimpeded air flow, but I think its just the comfort of the long seat that makes it feel one step better.

Yes, there is an airbox under the plastic that splits in two with the filter in the middle. One thing to look out for with the snorkel removed is just rain water getting in if you park outside. The Zeta looks pointed downward to avoid this. There's a sight glass and a pinch tube on the airbox so you can monitor for that issue.
