Battery Type?

What type of battery is in the Trail 125? AGM? SLA? My battery tenders (I use the Battery Minder brand) are specifically designed for battery type. Also, could someone recommend a cable with the SAE 12v connector? Thanks.

I can’t answer as to the type of battery on the bike but, I use a ”Battery Tender Junior” 12V with this Honda and my Yamaha xt250 and they work well. Also, there’s a very nice UTube on how to install the SAE 12V connector which includes how to take off the plastic covers. I believe the length cord I used was around 18”. We had to put on smaller connector rings due to the cramped space on the battery. As the UTube author says, it nests real nice along the left side of the bike under the side plastic. Thanks. I'm guessing, based on your use of the Battery Tender Junior with success that the battery is SLA (Sealed Lead Acid). As soon as my Service Manual arrives, I'll probably find out for sure (or guess I could just open up the battery compartment and look, huh?). Happy Riding.

The OEM battery is AGM. I used the 18" Battery Tender Ring Terminal Accessory Cable with SAE similar to many here, and I replaced the eyelets with ones that are smaller to fit under the metal tabs on the battery cable ends.
