I just bought my first bike (Honda trail 125) and I’m looking for accessories. I have about $300 worth of stuff in my cart from beezdeals but shipping is $250. Is that normal? I feel like spending almost double because of shipping is not worth it but it’s hard to find parts elsewhere.

Congrats on the new bike!
Size and weight are big factors on cost for international shipments. You could try Webike, eBay, and Amazon for comparables but most Honda Trail 125 specific accessories will ship from Thailand or Japan.

If you want the parts, you pay the price…. Think that you are paying for your stuff to come about 1/2 way around the world in 4 days or so.
I did dhl and had the stuff in 4 days…

Seems harsh at first but 2 years later I still enjoy the parts and don’t think about the shipping

its a complete ass rape on shipping with those guys, easily the most expensive I've seen in the hobby. I can get stuff from the UK for 24 bucks fedex international. and i order a LOT of parts from a place over there, and usually arrives in 2-4 days. I had a pair of shocks shipped from italy last week: 24 euro. skid plate from webike for another bike, big package: 36 usd shipping. Seat for my 72 R5 from vietnam, on way here: 100 and its the whole seat with new pan, not just a cover. 250 is asinine. I believe that's the 'western tax' or 'north american fee' cooked in. (that is NOT a political statement).

Unlike how Helm have the monopoly on Honda print manuals and overcharge for shipping, there are other Thai vendors who can sell you most of the same Thai made products that Beezdeals carries if you really want to put in effort to try to save on shipping. Those other vendors can be found on the Thai Facebook groups and will sell items over Messenger. Personally, I'd rather deal with Anton at Beezdeals and buy items through an English website without the communicaton hassle and knowing that it's a reputable business.

Even Webike, who have great shipping prices from Japan, have crazy high shipping prices out of Thailand depending on the item.
Here's sample pricing on a hefty accessory, REVOLUTION Rear Foot Pegs Bracket Set in Black:

From Beezdeals: https://beezdeals.com/product/revol...-honda-ct125-trail-125/?attribute_color=Black
$114.99 for item, $67 for cheapest shipping option (ePacket). Total at checkout $181.99

From Webike Thailand: https://thai.webike.net/en/sd/th0585065
$110.39 for item, $131.94 for cheapest shipping option (Standard). Total at checkout $242.33

From Webike Japan (Global): https://japan.webike.net/products/25865602.html
$189.56 for item, $24.42 for cheapest shipping option (EMS). Total at checkout $213.99

Keep in mind that most of the CT125 specific accessories are made in Asian countries and sold to Asian countries.

luckily i'm not buying any more from them. , don't need to. its a rip off no matter how you slice it. and i never got webike thailand to ever work right for me. they (mfgs) might be cooking the price in up front to the resellers as well. either way, f-that. it reeks of BS. and my company buys a LOT of stuff from asia by the truckload.

By the truckload is exactly how to get good pricing. Container shipping from Thailand to the USA is relatively cheap, parcel shipping is not. You can see the suggestion of that in the prices above. It's cheaper for Webike to buy the item from Thailand, likely container ship it with a batch of other items to their Japan warehouse, add that initial shipping cost to the item price, and then ship it inexpensively as a parcel from Japan to the USA. Webike also likely get better shipping pricing than smaller business due to volume discounts.

Im aware. we do it all the time. But i also buy things individually. its gouging. i would bet there's an agreement over there amongst these guys. Price fixing is nothing new. Also why these CT parts aren't carried/distirbuted anywhere else in the world for the most part.

I tried to make an order with webike Japan. As I am in Japan. They refused to let me pick it up in Yokohama where they are located. They would only ship. Their shipping prices are about 3X what it actually costs. Japan has very cheap shipping rates. They are a drop shipper with a heavy western tax.

Amazon likely won't let you pick up an order from a corporate office or fulfillment center either. Nothing unusual about that.

No. But Amazon provides free or cheap shipping.
These guys offer low prices but make it up on the shipping. I can ship a box the size of a large suitcase across japan for less then $20us. Yet I want to get some foot pegs and they want $60.

you pay for 'free' shipping with a membership. besides, this isnt amazon, its a specialty business. apples and oranges. comparing beez shipping to others in the region though is kind of the point of this post though.

@Ruger007 Are you using www.webike.net for that? If I put in a friend's address in Tokyo with a cart load of stuff it comes up with a free shipping discount, but without that discount it shows normal delivery at ¥500 and Yamato Transport at ¥637. Cheap. Since you're in Japan you could probably even select Yamato to use TA-Q-BIN and pick up your order at a FamilyMart or 7-Eleven similar to how Amazon orders can be picked up from Amazon Lockers at 7-Eleven or Whole Foods in the USA.

Maybe I was doing something wrong. Was for a set of foot pegs, A baby rack and some bling. I messaged them to ask about local pick up as I was going to be in Yokohama. Was a hard no. They quoted me an exorbitant amount of shipping. I just went to the local Honda Wing in Shinjuku and ordered it up. Less hassle. I got to know some of the employees there. Great bunch. If you need Honda parts I recommend them.

Webike can be a bit confusing in that their "Global" site doesn't ship to Japan even though the domain is japan.webike.net, but they do a lot of workarounds such as letting people buy an item from one region for another and that type of thing, where I wonder if that might be related to what you encountered. I can relate to that inconvenience though, it's a bummer. Last month I flew out to Tampa, FL to pick up a truck. CARiD.com had the exact wheels I was going to buy for the truck listed on their site and available in their Tampa warehouse so I asked in their LiveChat if I could just pick up the wheels while I was in the area with an empty truck bed to load them into. Nope. Ended up paying $80 for UPS shipping, which was reasonable as a shipping cost but it would have been a better experience to drive 10 minutes out of my way and pick them up instead.

Shipping may be expensive but was completely worth it for me. I will buy more from both beez and webike... What's available on Amazon is quite limited similar w/eBay... Both companies were fast ^ and 1d before was expected. IF you find somewhere else with the parts we want/need feel free to let me know ;)
