It’s pretty straight forward. However, I decided to run the wires inside. String, some small washers and a powerful magnet made the job easier. I also decided to use a tap and thread the mounting screws.I am about to do the same! Any tips/tricks you learned?

Added lights to the Hitch Carrier. I’ll feel much safer hauling the Trail 125 around. View attachment 11147
Nice professional install Alvin A! Looks like it came that way from the factory. I used the LED strip on mine. Very simple install, and I do like the way the turn signals flash, starting at the center and moving outward. The strip also has white reverse lights, but I haven't wired those in yet. Wouldn't be hard to add a reverse light to your set-up if desired.Nice upgrade! I did the same to my hitch carrier as well. On mine I'm using a strip LED light which attaches with heavy-duty 3M double-sided tape and connects to the flat-four trailer connector. I generally haul mine around with a Tacoma as well!
Found a picture of mine, it was made by Zieman about 20-25 years ago (I've had it for about 15 or so). I added the LED strip light, just a cheapie from Amazon which seems to work well and is plenty bright (in the pic just the tailights are on; no one was stepping on the brake) It lights up amber for turn signals too.Nice professional install Alvin A! My LED strip was also just a cheapie from WM.com. Like $15. Very satisfied with cost/benefit ratio so far. Amazingly bright. I did have to add a little adhesive on each end of the strip to keep it from slowly peeling back off though. Why did I not think of that? Have just been using some heavy duty screw-in shelf brackets on a section of my wood fence that no one sees. Now I'm going to have to redo it.Made a mount to hang the Black Widow carrier out of the way![]()
Nice! that's the biggest problem with mine is storage. Most of the time it's behind my trash cans, though that requires carrying it through a narrow gate and out to the driveway. Not ideal.Made a mount to hang the Black Widow carrier out of the way![]()
