So after some intense trail riding including a bent rear bake pedal and some other abuse that we wont mention. My brake light stays light up all the time even when the brakes are not engaged. After bending the rear brake pedal almost a full 180 degrees minutes into my trail ride. I was able to bend it back into a usable position and had no problems what so ever using the rear brake all day it functioned fine. Sometime later I got into some sketchy hill climbing and bent it up a bit more. After this the brake light was stuck on, it is kind of twisted at the pedal down and left so the actual horizontal foot piece is slightly perpendicular with the ground.
Anyways I figure the brake light wont turn off because of the damaged brake lever, however It is hard to tell if the springs are engaging at rest and even if i press upwards (the lever has some give now) I cant get the light to turn off. Im wondering if there is other things I can check to try and pinpoint or solve the problem. I would just order a new brake lever and replace the bent one, but for now it works and wont solve my problem of it catching on the trail anyways.
It is ironic since I stumbled on a crucial upgrade, a spring loaded shifter that gives if it catches a stray rock or branch, and then my brake catches a stump, what are the chances.
Any help is appreciated.
