Howdy. Having a couple of small Honda cycles in the early 70's, Some 50 years have gone by without a motorcycle. Fulfilling items on a Bucket List at age 74 1/2, I bought a nice Yamaha V-Star 250. I have paralysis below the waist complements of a staph infection in spinal cord 5 years ago. Four hospitals and 11 months of intense rehab put me back on the feet, but still a lot of paralysis in feet, legs, and fanny that will never heal. THOUGHT I could handle the Yamaha at only 350 pounds. WRONG!! I crashed it within 10 minutes resulting in broken ribs and twisted ankle plus other cuts and bruises. Gotta Laugh..........in spite of it hurting!!!!

Two weeks after Yamaha purchase, stubborn crazy man with 20 year old mind jumps into the soup again. Being a life-long outdoorsman, I slobbered over those Honda Trail models seen in outdoor magazines back in the 1960's............. A "hunt" Found a new 2023 Trail 125 in Hendersonville, NC. 120 mile round-trip later with Jeep and trailer, it's resting nicely in the garage.

The Trail is much more suited. Rehab taught me to push a clutch again on vehicles, but PULLING a toe UP after swiveling a numb foot in the blind simply did not work on the V-Star. Loved the looks of that bike but had to sell it at a loss.

The Trail's auto clutch, PUSH with heel or toe to shift, lack of hand clutch to concentrate on is working. I've put around 20 miles on the Trail so far on pavement and gravel and Haven't CRASHED!!

SOLD the pretty Yamaha at a loss, but that's OK. Over decades of collecting bamboo fly rods and guns, I've learned that trying something on for size can sometimes have a cost.

Now my goal is to get more confident with it so I might trailer it to my cabin in the mountains where 100 miles of Forest Service Roads are literally all around there.

Y'all take care, Bo in western NC

Good to hear you're back on two wheels again. That fact that you can't stall the CT is probably a plus too. If you're ever looking to trade that Chevelle in the picture for another Trail 125 straight up, let me know!

This bike seems to have hypnotic powers! It's pulled all of us in. Sounds like you're on the right track. Best of luck to you!
