Carrying a golf bag

So I play golf. I want to carry a subset of my main golf bag to play a local 9 hole golf course. 2 options I see.

1. suck it up and sling it over my back.
2. see eBay black for fishing poles and modify to carry the mini golf bag.

I have seen a few cruiser bikes that carry the bag behind them similar to this setup. It could get you into trouble blocking plates and lights, but it still seems like one of the best positions to carry a golf bag in.
