Center Rack Fuel Tank Replica

Hey folks. Just wondering if anybody has tried this fuel tank replica from Diablo.

I just rode my '23 trail for the first time more than 5 minutes and found myself wanting to brace against something with my knees. I think it might just take some getting used to, so I'm not going to jump for a solution just yet. The fuel tank replica looks cool (but also maybe like I'm trying to make it look like something it's not?), but it also looks like it won't be very sturdy. It looks like it's only held on with one bolt in the front and pressure from the seat. It's a bit expensive, but you do get a center rack and bag and I like the idea of having a cover over a bag keeping it hidden from view.

Anyone here felt the same way about bracing with their knees? Did the feeling pass or no? Or maybe there's an alternative solution like an especially stiff center bag that works well?

id be too tempted to try and make a legit fuel cell from it. i love the ascetics of it but i don't see it being very useful on these bikes.

I think you may mostly get used to it, just make sure the bike's ergonomics are working for you. If they aren't, make adjustments.

The no fuel tank thing is weird but you do get used to it. Squeezing with your feet helps a lot.

Be hard to get on and off the bike if you have a case of any size on the back. Or a milk crate for sure.

Yes, when I first started riding this bike it felt a bit awkward with no tank. It's also crossed my mind that in an emergency, abrupt stop, one could conceivably slide into the void area. With that said, mounting and dismounting would be difficult with a tank, particularly with something large mounted on the rear rack. Like anything else, just takes some getting used to.
