Centrifugal Clutch

My theory is the centrifugal clutch is key to the trail performance of the Honda Trail as it eliminates stalling and tends to slip the clutch rather than the tire making it easier to maintain traction and precise control at very low speed. The clutch design and low horsepower engine are a perfect match.
