Do you have part numbers for the sprockets and chain you used? Just got my CT125 and and deeply disappointed at the torque it has in first gear as I mainly want to use it as a trail rig.

Also, have you had a chance to run it up to top speed to see where it's comfortable cruising at with that gear ratio?

The top speed at level road is 50 MPH. It cruiuses fine at 40 to 45 mph. At 50 mph you are not hitting the rev limiter. I am expecting a cheap tachometer in the mail any day now,so I will have a better idea of the RPM's.
I'm looking forward to hearing about the RPM.

Looking at the gear ratios of the CT90 and CT110 in second gear low range they are running a total reduction of 33.6:1. That's with their lower 3.722 primary, and the 3.0 final drive.

The CT125 in first gear with a 13 front sprocket and 45 rear sprocket is running a total reduction of 29:1. So the CT90 and 110 in second gear low range are still getting about 16% more torque multiplication. That being said the CT125 has on the order of 15%-30% more torque than the CT110 depending on which numbers you use. So that would explain the similar feel you're experiencing.

Looking forward to hearing more, its nice you have both bikes so you can compare them. I've never ridden a CT110, but always wanted one for their off-road ability. I prefer the reliability that comes with new and fuel injection so decided to just buy a CT125, but I'm mostly interested in riding it on trails, gravel roads, and Oklahoma beaches.
