I guess the air filter intake IS the ultimate restriction on this bike, at least for the tune it has on its stock ecu. I put on this air intake straight onto the throttle body , pictured below. No other modifications, after running 40-50 miles low rpms in city traffic I got on a 60 mph highway back home. Thinking the ecu must've adapted by now I gave it 3/4-full for around 7-10miles and unfortunately the piston "swelled" due to lean condition (i guess) and over temp. Causing the engine to loose power. As soon as I felt it, I immediately stopped. But I knew what was going on.( felt like running out of gas expect more engine'y if that makes any sense) I let it cool down and continued back home at a 1/2 throttle pace of 35-40 mph. No real loss for me, as the yuminashi 143 bbk literally arrived at home the same time I was out. Piston is scraped, rings seem ok, cylinder litteraly like new, but definitely do not recommend lol. Currently put on the yuminashi 143, along with the pcx 150 injector and a tb cam. Awaiting the a racer mini x along with the wbo2 to get the afr's where they should be. Will post on the a racer mini x as soon as I get it installed and dialed in, happy late 4th boys!
