Dropped the bike on suicide Ridge.

I attempted to ride up suicide ridge today and dropped the bike after the front wheel hit a large rock and my right foot could not touch the ground. And as we know when on a incline once the bike starts to fall it's going down. I decided to turn around at that point and ride back down. I didn't film that part because of the cursing and weeping involved. I am learning more every time I take the bike into the desert, definitely the most challenging terrain of my riding career. I've included a screenshot from gaia maps if you want to know the area attempted. I was surprised how well my mount for the box held up, the 2 bungee cords and the non skid pad I glued to the case held it in place even when I dropped it, and I can remove the box in 2 seconds.

Three questions Bryan:-

What gearing were you using?
Are you fully compos mentis?
What is flapping around under that blue box?
1. I was wearing military boots, jeans and t-shirt, I just ordered some shin guards.
2. Probably not
3. Biker bell shaped like Viking helmet.
That ridge is insane, I almost flipped my 4x4 trying to come up the other side. Last year a guest flipped their utv and broke bones. Every one avoids it now, including me. You can make it up the section I filmed with a utv or atv you cannot ride past the last mine or ride down the other side, believe me I tried.

The good thing about the bike is it's pretty easy to pick up. Sounds like no damage done. When are you going to try again?

Think I'm done with that route for awhile, it's tough even on my atv, long climbs with rock ledges and lots of water erosion leaving deep channels thru the road. 3 very interesting mine locations on top though if you do make it. I just watched the video again and figured out how I fell over, you see 2 things at the end, a large rock on my left in the road and a large cactus patch on my right, I was looking at the cactus and trying to stay as far from it as possible when my front wheel hit the rock. The center of the road has a deep ditch so when I hit the rock and put my feet down my right leg was a foot to short and with the steepness and incline of the road down I went. I wish I would have filmed the trip back down it's so much harder to go down hill with all the loose rocks.

I took my honda rancher to suicide ridge today to see if the road is really that bad and to get pics of the 2 open pit and 2 side hill mines on the ridge 1st the road is insane even on an atv, just constantly beating you up. 2nd I made it to 3 of the mines the last one being on a steep downhill section I bravely chickened out of going down, more on that later in a different post. The views are amazing if you make it to the top, and the last pic is the spot I fell over at.
