I found it very easy to purchase 2 CT125s, there have been 3 things in my life I've wanted just as much and had the financial ability to purchase them I just never pulled the trigger and bought them. I think because I already had a connection with the Hondas it was easier. The 3 things I've drooled over?
#1 in the late 80s I wanted a Rolex Submariner watch very badly but for some reason always found a reason not to buy it, would have been a great investment btw.
#2 Les Baer Thunder ranch .45, I came within inches several times just never paid the money, couldn't tell you why, another good investment I think if I had.
#3 Chris Reeve Sebenza. Thought by many to be the perfect pocket knife, I have knives in my collection that cost more just not a sebenza. Yet every time I see one I want it, just cannot seem to buy one for some stupid reason.
Now I don't need any of those 3 things any more than I needed the CT125s but like I said it was easy to convince myself for some reason to buy the bikes. Kinda funny isn't it.

The only thing on your list of which I do not have an abundance of is a Rolex, of which I have none. 1911's and knives though- I am all in on those!
Is there a knife or gun you want, but never seem to buy? If so why?

”Thou shalt not kill” (or covet thy neighbour’s Honda)
Actually most religious scholars believe the correct translation to be thou shall not commit murder, if you've read the old testament God kills millions of people in various battles and divine commandments and with the flood kills almost everyone and everything on the planet. So the commandment not to kill anyone seems suspect. And that is all the religion i will discuss online, and that's probably to much.🤔

Humm the eighth covers lying about people. The sixth covers murder and owning a firearm does not make one commit such acts. There are almost 450 million guns in private hands in the usa, with billions of rounds of ammo to go with them. If it was the problem many make it out to be...... nobody would be here

But sometimes the two overlap.
Which brings us back to my original premise, why is it easier to convince ourselves to buy certain things when seemingly the level of want at times is the same, I've certainly wanted a les Baer as much as a honda ct125 but never bought one.

Maybe because you can take a $500 Tisas add $200 in parts and an afternoon of your time and the plain Jain Tisas will do everything the $2000 - $4000 Baer will do except look purdy and bring bragging rights 🤷‍♂️ The CT is what it is and really fits in a nitche by itself.

I'll be brutally honest with you about it, 2 of those things, the watch and knife were more status symbols than anything else. And I've always known who I am at a certain level, so you could put the watch on my arm and the 500 knife in my pocket and I'd always be self conscious about it, I'd still not feel like they belong to me the same way others would. I'd have them for the wrong reasons if you know what I mean.
And the Les Baer, well I've put a lot of rounds out of a barrel in my life and when it comes to handguns specifically I'm only going to shoot so well so a 300 pistol and a 2000 pistol look about the same on paper for me, with handguns I'm just trying to group center mass and a 2in group is just as good as a 1in group and that's what 2000 buys you, now rifles are a different story. So there it is I suppose just ego and image and I'm just a dumb hillbilly at heart I guess, and figuring that out saved my life.

As you may, or may not know, we have a rather different view of guns and knives here in Europe, and especially the UK. I am not going to pontificate but I do apologise for so clumsily and inadvertently touching on the matter. To Moses too, I extend apologies for my reordering of his tablets. King James et al have a lot to answer for …

It must be hard watching the foolishness of the plebians in the colonies but caution is advised. The air can get a bit thin upon the back of a Shire and you might get dizzy mate.

No harm done sir, it takes courage to post any thing regarding the Bible online these days. May God bless and keep you in his grace is my prayer. Bryan Church
