Extra gas rotopaX

I didn’t like the cheap Long Haul setup, so I went with a 1 gallon container from rotopaX. It hugs closer to the bike, the Long Haul stuck out pretty good. I have a locking handle coming tomorrow from rotopaX. I got my clearance down to a minimum in the rear shock area and rear taillight. They sell a 1 gallon white water container with same dimensions and piggy back it to this gas container with a latch extension. Or just carry the water when needed if extra gas won’t be a problem. Those two will stick out maybe as far as the Long Haul. Anyway, this is a solid setup.

What side bracket are you using to mount it? I ask because the attachment point with the 2 threaded holes used to mount the OEM tool box is not very strong and folks have experienced it breaking off when weight is not distributed to more mounting points.

I have the time to trail plate and it also attaches to the side of the breaklight. Also a like 3/8” 5” oval plate from rotopaX. It seems pretty solid, I’ll keep an eye of those tool box attachment points for any signs of fatigue. I like how I can put gas in there without dismounting the can. I carry maybe 1/2 gal. for if I ain’t
paying attention and I run out.

Hi Ya Backwoods, do you have links to the pack & bracket? That's the slimmest set up I've seen so far.
Well done, Sir.

rotopaX 1 gallon with one of their mounts. I ordered the container with a bracket. You don’t need the bracket, but you do need the mount. Also the Time To Trail mount plate. I seen one here in the classified forum and Beez has it too.

What is that tin box and does it hold a full face helmet?

It is a plastic military ammo crate, 7.62x51 NATO, 1,300rd or something like that on it. I think maybe South African or Australian source for this crate. Maybe someone here will know, as I can’t even remember where I got the crate, it was years ago. I looked online and can’t find this crate, so no information on it. I have not seen another one and my Bell Eliminator is too thick by like an 1”. It’s waterproof and light weight, fits the rack like It was an OEM option.
