Did you try riding the bike after discovering the flat?

I ask because I spoke to a rider over here who had a puncture, as we call them, out on the trail. He rode twelve miles back to his truck at a good speed and reported no damage to tyre or rim …

So a plug won't do you any good... and removing that rear tube for repair in the field is not a simple task... m in sc... is more or less correct, you just need a way to get yourself back home. At the cost of these tires, I wouldn't hesitate to just ride it back somewhere I could recover it, at low speed being very careful if necessary. I hate flats for sure... I'm moving to puncture resistant tires, and heavy duty tubes, and then attempting to use good judgement, and avoid the flats... to the extent possible.

yeah I don't know why I made reference to plugs. I was thinking either of my GS or Vespa GTS 300. He came and loaded it on a trailer. Now I have to find the correct tube and order it.

Can the tube not be patched?

Usually and if you are going to go in the woods or far from home one it would be wise to have the skills and tools needed to do so. Near home most of us have a buddy that owes us a favor or 5. A much less frustrating ordeal in your own garage with beverage breaks.
You are of course correct - but when I watch Noraly lay down her 350, sweep away the Senegalese scorpions and wield the irons I just want to have her babies …

50 years of riding including solo cross Canada & USA, never had a flat. Am thinking of putting Slime in my new bike’s tubes when it finally arrives. Too old for farting around with punctures! Worth 2 years of protection IMHO. Thoughts?!?

"The Slime tube formula should not be used in a tubeless tire or in tires traveling highway speeds (greater than 45 mph)."
This is among the reasons I've carried a bottle of Slime and a tire inflator as a "just in case" along with tools and a replacement tube to keep options open, but I have not preemptively added Slime to the inner tubes on my CT125.
