I can’t remember whose idea this was but it’s awesome. Stays right there till the bike is strapped down and is good piece of mind too.

I'll admit, I've never seen a bike secured that way before, but am always glad to see new ways to do things. I'm glad it's working for you.

Here's my set-up when my Trail (or my other bikes) are on my Hitch Hauler. Straps on all four corners (color-matched to the bike, it's a thing LOL!) Way overkill for the 30 miles I hauled my Trail home when I bought it but it was nice and secure.

Overkill until a strap fails, then it's redundancy :)

Very true! I've been lucky and haven't had a strap fail. But I buy good quality straps, take good care of them and cycle them out when they start to show wear. The fact that each bike/ATV/Car I haul has it's own color-matched straps is just a happy accident LOL :p
