Hey gang! Brand new to the forums and a first time motorcycle owner. My dad had a Trail 90 back in the 70's and then Harleys, so I'm not new to motorcycles. Just new to owning/riding my own.
Looking forward to exploring the backroads and forests of the Central California Foothills and Sierras!
My local dealer/friend convinced me that I needed a Trail125 - so I'm looking forward to the new adventure!

Congrats & Welcome, your Local Dealer/Friend is a wise man. Nice setup with that rear rack. You should be able to get to some epic locations in the Sierras, make sure to post pics! Are you 6'5" or 6'9" with the afro?

It was super fun. It was also, the first ride outside of the SMF course. I was a little/lot nervous at first. So I just rode around the parking lot of Roseville Honda for a while to gain some confidence, and then off I went. So much fun. 🤩
Nice!!

I've been riding for over 2 decades and whenever I've been off the bike for a bit (say more than a week), I'll still go out and do this at the closest parking lot to my home. I also regularly get some half tennis balls and practice at my local high school and rec center for maneuvers - the same things you'd do on a MSF course. The cone weave, the box, emergency braking, etc. all to familiarize myself with how the bike feels and double check it meets my expectations (e.g. like if the tires feel low or the chain feels slack it might corner or slow speed maneuver weird). It's better to figure this stuff out close to home's comforts and toolkits than out on the road.
