Fishing rod holder?

I bought a break down (collapse style) fishing rod that will pack away nice in my rear box. Once I am fishing though I do not want to break the rod down as I get the bike from one spot to another. I’ve seen this rod holder and the concept of it seems like it may work. Does anybody have experience with this setup? If so how well does it work and what are the mounting points for it (I can’t quite tell by the pictures)?

Thank you

I tried the collapsed and multi piece rods but they sucked settled with a two piece in my milk crate. Have to secure them both or you will lose half and it will get run over, don’t ask me how I know.

I have something similar to these, and intend to mount them to my milk crate. Much less expensive, and I’m sure I can think of other stuff to carry in them.

If you scroll down a bit, I asked about the exact same mount you are looking for information on. There were a few responses, and one of our members here reported on his.

I have always liked one piece rods best, and settle for two piece when necessary. But I bought a Sougayilang collapsible rod a few years ago, and it has actually worked out very well!

Totally surprised me, but I wouldn’t count on the next one. In Europe they have enormous collapsing rods that the use for surf casting 😳 and also for what they call rough fish, which translates to big carp and catfish I believe. Those rods aren’t cheap however, and I’m certain the added cost is truly buying you something.

I have the DRC holder on my trail. You have to remove the stock swing arm cover and replace it with DRC unit. It's a nice piece.

Did you make the canvas windscreens for your crashbars? It looks as though the fabric matches your saddlebag.

Nice job, I’ve been considering doing something similar. I have these waiting.

The covers for the crashbars come as a kit. They are made by SP Takegawa. My touring bag is made by them as well so that's why it matches. The covers are removable as well.
