I decided to answer a question nobody was asking, can you ride a ct125 on the old Butterfield stage trail from Hidden Valley to Fort Cummings. This section is generally only traveled by atv and 4x4 vehicles. In the 1st video I cover the ride from rv Park to Butterfield rd, then turn left into frying pan canyon following the stage trail to massacre canyon, Cooks spring then to Fort Cummings. This section was sandy, muddy and rocky enough to satisfy even my masochistic craving. In the 2nd video I leave the Fort and ride to the cemetery. I then bravely decided to follow the dirt road to pavement and take an easier way back. In the 1st video I meet a Canadian couple and a kiwi couple in atvs trying to go the same way so they follow me to the Fort. Later we meet at their camping spot where I'm introduced to maple syrup flavor whiskey. Here's a top gear top tip for ya, if a Canadian offers to pour you shots of maple syrup whiskey, don't do it. You will get drunk but you'll spend the rest of the night with a wicked urge for pancakes. The kiwis were lovely and left no lasting damage. This is my hardest ride to date here and the bike came through it pretty much unscathed, I have mesquite scratches and a sore ass.
I made a video of this which is quite long and tedious to watch, if you want to skip to the worst parts then skip to about 40 min in. Total mileage for the trip was about 44 miles
