Looks like a nice and simple mounting position as long as you're not otherwise using that outlet port. Is that the Protec brand one, and how's the sensor work? Is it always accurate, or dependent on RPM?

The gear indicator turned out not to work, it showed gears inverted 1-4 instead of 4-1. I did some deep digging and I find no gear indicators for the Trail that would work. Beware the webike unit

Which one do you have? There's reviews of the Protec ones working.
I'm not sure, webike doc was all in Japanese. Hard to believe it was installed wrong, no wires cut its pretty much plug and play, new gear box sensor. Webike would not furnish instr's in english and NO money back. Avoid them

That's unfortunate, I've had very good support from them before. If you have a smartphone with a camera and the Google Translate app, you can use it to get a translation of the instructions that is about on-par with the level of translation you could expect from most aftermarket parts manufacturers that aren't large international corporations.
