I'm interested in what folks think about this accessory. I've their purpose was to prevent or reduce damage to the shift rod resulting from dumping the bike on the left side.
According to the retailer: This reduces the bending of Gear Shaft that occurs during shift change, improves the shift touch, and achieves small and nice shift change. Type 1 used ball bearings, but Type 2 uses needle bearings to improve the shift touch.
Currently $73.69 USD from Webike
What do you folks think? Is this accessory:

What do you folks think? Is this accessory:
- critical insurance against real potential damage to the bike
- could be beneficial, if the bike happened to land hard the wrong way
- absolutely not needed, a waste of $$
