Hello from Ontario, Canada

Hey all,

Just called my local Honda dealer. Plan is to put a downpayment on a new Trail next week.

I’ve been on the road to buy a Royal Enfield Himalayan and then discovered that the Honda Trail was now available in Canada. I want a bike thats simple, rugged, I can haul on a rack on my truck and take up into the north of Canada. Also I want something to zip around town as a commuter that won’t break the bank or end up on the side of the road.

I wouldn’t wait, Canada is getting limited supply. I ordered mine within the first couple of days, dealer had 8 orders the first week, Honda can only give them 2. He said next batch will be October. I was first order with the dealer, confirmed May delivery.

Just put a deposit down at the dealer close to me. Also said May delivery.

Welcome TacoR, and way to go with the deposit plan. You're gonna love Trail, and if it turns out that you don't, it'll be quick and easy (and maybe even mildly profitable) to unload. As you're surely aware, here in the US the buyer competition for our beloved Trail was about like the early 70's Japan toilet paper crisis.

I think all of the dealers in Canada are giving a refund on deposits if you change their mind. I spoke to 2 dealers who offered that. They said that because of the low stock, they can’t order them for the floor. Honda was only allowing dealer orders that are marked as sold. They won’t have any issues selling if you change your mind.

2021 in North Dakota was… dealer allowed one trail at a time sell one order one. I am told it is still like that.
