I’ve had mine just over a year. Absolutely love it and great fun to ride!

Hi Micky, the ease of storing and extracting a CT125 from a small back yard is a wondrous thing …I've just enrolled as a new member on here
Pal in Barnsley got one the same time as me last year!
Hi there Kritou
Best regards all
Hey,Reassuring to know there are a few, like minded, small bore fans over here in Blighty.
I'm new to the CT scene, but I've had a Monkey 125 since 2019. That has been a fun bike to own/ride, just not very practical for my day to day riding.
I hope to get a CT in the new year.
Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the research phase, and already compiling a long list of "must have" accessories and mods.
One area I have struggled with is insurance cover for a CT. My current insurer said a firm NO! when I asked them for a quote.
This appeared to be down to the model CT125 Hunter Cub (which I assumed was its UK model name) not coming up on the system?
So "computer says no".
Any suggestions as to which insurers understand which bike we are trying to get a quote for? Who you using?
TIA. P
Not just me experiencing obstacles then Micky. At least you have cover of sorts for yours. It also sounds like you know how to reduce the risks of thievery.I couldn't get insured for theft anywhere. I'm insured for third party but not for theft!
Imported vehicle and my postcode and the fact that its not garaged. I don't tick any of their boxes, but my security is much better than their boxes. I've had friends that have had their motorcycles stolen from a garage ... I've lived here for fifty years and always a motorcycle, often two) in the rear garden ... but never had a problem. Never say never Micky ....
Thanks for that bit of intel edronik. It should be a straightforward quote for me then. Especially if they've already insured someone with that make and model.Hey,
I'm insured with Bikesure for a couple hundred quid, took them a sec to adjust their systems to the 'new bike' but it was the cheapest I found
Mine is well hidden, under covers and out of sight. No one can see in to my garden at all. Ground anchor, padlock and chain, alarmed disk lock. Camera's that alert me if anyone in the garden. I watch if anyone follows me home, I have to ride through a scrote estate. Anyone walking down the 10' backs I go out the top and round the block again. The only people that know my 'bike is there are my immediate neighbours. I spent a few years in the Stolen Vehicle Squad and have no doubt, the thieves will patrol neighbourhoods and clock people washing their bikes in the front garden after a day out. If the thieves know its there believe me, they WILL come back for it. garaged or not!Not just me experiencing obstacles then Micky. At least you have cover of sorts for yours. Thanks to edronik, I'm going to try Bikesure for a quote.
I keep my Monkey well hidden at home. Out and about, I try not to let it out of my sight.
You need a watchdog as well … they say spaniels are the best …Mine is well hidden, under covers and out of sight. No one can see in to my garden at all. Good luck with it![]()
I guess there's s lot to be said for the community spirit and neighbourly-ness out in the sticks.Wow, it's really getting bad out there in the real world. I on some days fail to take the key out of mine. But I live at the end of a 160 mile road (from Canada) in an isolated tiny town of 2000 people in Alaska. Everybody knows everybody, and bad seeds seem to not make it long here. I've never had anything stolen in the 20 years I have lived here, not that it couldn't happen but there is really no place for a thief to take something like a motorcycle to sell. Try riding it out the road, you run into the Canadian customs 40 miles out, and they are likely going to want to see your papers.
Burglar might have a job out running a whippet. The two spaniels I've had would take any burglar or prospective thief straight to the food cupboard
It might well be that I'll be taking on my grandsons whippet ... now they are supposed to make good guard dogs, dunno![]()
I got lucky when I chose this town to retire 20 years ago as not all small towns have such good people. Average age is 50 and much of the population has also retired and moved here. They, by and large brought their own retirement income with them. No regrets settling down here.I guess there's s lot to be said for the community spirit and neighbourly-ness out in the sticks.
Time was, you had those values where I live. Nowadays, I find there are a few people who feel they have more right to something, than the person who worked hard to pay for it.
Hi,that must be seven seas motors I have one on order since December but should be receiving it in about 2 weeks time.I have one, but a brief email to Mark or Sharon should answer your query
