Today I turned 60yrs old, how that happened only the good lord knows as my gram ma said, I certainly tried enough in my late teens to my early 30s to prevent it but it happened anyway, I would like to formally apologize to my guardian angels, surely I had more than one for the unfair task of keeping my sorry a** alive long enough to appreciate it. Today I am both thankful for my life and sorry and somewhat embarrassed I didn't do more with it. To all my new friends here may the good lord look after you as much as he has me😇

I wish I had pursued a higher education, my vocabulary and punctuation is terrible, to be honest it was never a priority until later in life when I had to start texting and trying to express my thoughts on a forum like this and then I realized how uneducated I sound. To a certain degree there is no substitute for certain things that only come with education. As for every thing else I fear I led a very selfish life in that I only wanted to do the things I enjoyed, I rationalize that by saying I work hard and when I got time off I wanted to take full advantage of it, but now I wish I'd have listened more to others in my life, who knows what experience I missed. This thing we all experience for such a fleeting moment is so simple and wonderful that we only truly see it when it's past. That may be the biggest regret of all, for all of us.

I turn 52 in a couple of months and just finishing up a Masters Degree. Also the CT125 will be my first "motorbike" and still need to do the course but it adds to my learning.

actual conversation with my father 1 year ago:

'cant believe I made it to 50, i figured id be dead by 25'
dad:
'Me too, and i felt the same way about myself back then, and you'

dads turning 84 in october. lol.

🥳
Ha! That's great! My dad rode until I came along, then got rid of his bike and forbid my having one while I was living at home. As soon as I left home, I got my first bike and he went out and bought one as well. We actually got to ride together a few times (dual sporting). He passed away at 81 having taken his last ride only a few years before. I'm still enjoying my bikes at soon-to-be 79.

Happy birthday!

"Dad... so you know how I don't have a motorcycle license?"
".... yeahhhh..."
"can you ride this Ninja 250 back from my buddy's place, coz I now own it?"
"... *sigh* sure..."

And that's how Dad ended up with a Honda Shadow, a 2004 Road King, my sister with a 696 Monster and a R6, and me with a string of bikes after dad had sold his back in the 90s 😂. I think he's probably hanging up the helmet for good now though, his vision is at the point where he himself no longer wants to ride for safety reasons. Still, imparting a passion at an early age is a gift that yields long returns.

May we all have such glorious lives to be the kind of influences our siblings and in laws warn our nieces and nephews of!!

Most of the time it seems we don't know what we should have done until we've already done something else, I think that's what I meant 😁
