Insurance Cost

As if you didn't need another reason to buy this bike, I just updated my insurance (Progressive) and my rate increased $40 per year! This is an add to an existing 2 cycle policy, so it'll be different for others, but wow...

I haven't spoken to my agent yet but expect the increase to be minimal even with my higher than normal coverage.

I've heard that sometimes your insurance goes down. Because you can only drive one thing at a time.
If you are driving your $4K motocycle, you won't be driving your $40K truck as much.

So when I said my insurance only went up $40 in total, what the details actually show is that the yearly insurance on the Trail was about $75. So yes, at the line item level my other bikes did go down, but overall it still went up. But I can certainly see a scenario where it could go down overall if you were insuring a really costly bike and then added something cheap. It's at least possible, though personally I've never seen an addition of a vehicle to an auto or cycle policy actually result in it.
