Kickstand extension for 2023/2024 bikes?

As I understand it, the extension pads made for the JA55 series bikes won’t work with the JA65 versions. But as is typical with me lately, my Google-fu is weak. Are there any pads made for the newer bikes? Should I just have my machinist/welder buddy weld on a piece of plate steel to the existing pad, and touch up the paint?

Heck, is it even really necessary?

I will say I don't like how much my 23 leans, even on concrete... in my opinion, the thing is already short... if you have after market tires that are even taller... then it only gets worse. It's on my list, but down the line at the moment... my very next thing, is security (locks). I need to leave donkey grazing in the parking lot at several places... and it's making me nervous.

Yes, the sidestand is different: https://hondatrail125.com/index.php?threads/sidestand-pad-doesnt-fit-23-trail.2530/

Some appear to be available for the 2023+ JA65:

There are also ones from China on AliExpress and eBay.

I think your welding idea sounds great if you're comfortable with it. As a precaution, disconnect the battery before welding on the bike. If you're running taller tires the reduced lean angle will help prevent it from teetering over on the kickstand side, but if you are running stock tires then it could put the bike too far upright where a gust of wind on the wrong grade could more easily blow it over to the exhaust side. Just something to consider.

All the ones I find on eBay are mislabeled as fitting earlier bikes up through 2023. Again, that could simply be me searching poorly, but as we know that there is a distinct difference between JA65 2023 kickstand and the earlier bikes, I’m not going to take a chance.

The links you provided are correct, however I’m thinking we will weld a 1/4” plate on that simply enlarges the surface area somewhat without changing the height significantly. Good call on disconnecting the battery, I hadn’t even considered that. I may just pull the kickstand off to make things easier, both for welding and then cleaning up to repaint.

I think that’s an excellent solution and what I’m going to do as well. I’m gonna remove it to do the mod. I do my best welding on the welding table anyway, and I don’t want to induce any current in the bike, battery connected or not. Might be perfectly safe, I know people weld on cars and trucks but for me I’ll weld on the table…. So maybe it won’t fall of. :)

SRC pad is here and installed, if I'm honest it's not worth the 42 shipped, offering maybe 1/8th width and 1/8 height upgrade, but you can decide for yourself.

Practical design for non-paved roads, because the right shoulder is sloping, and when you park on the side of the road, the short Kickstand can keep the motorcycle from falling to the side of the exhaust pipe.
If you are in a level parking lot, you will feel that the Kickstand is short.
