Left handle brake lever

I come from the world of ATVs. I get why the trail doesn't have a rear brake lever on the left handle because most people would grab for the clutch and brake on accident. However it would be nice if there was a mod to put the rear brake on the left side just like my Honda Rancher and every other ATV I've ridden. For me doing steep down hills where I have to put my feet out I would like the option to grab the rear brake if my right foot is off the pedals. Once I get my trail 125 I might look into fabricating one up. Bad idea?

just get a clutch master of the same size and a longer brake line, then double banjo it to the master cyl in the rear. it can be done.

Why don't ATV/snow mobile/water craft have twist throttle? Could never ride those for long because of sore thumb...
My guess is that those have bumpier rides than street bikes and you could accidentally twist and accelerate when you didn't want to. I agree, I had an ATV for a short time. Did not like the thumb throttle.

Nothing bumpier than a motocross bike lol...I haven't heard of a good reasoning for thumb throttle...

i didnt invent it, just saying. i've spent a decent amount of time on a 4 wheeler, never bothered me actually and felt like it gave more control. I actually have a friend that put a banshee motor in a ninja 250, he kept the thumb throttle. considering how violent that thing rode, you needed more fingers to grip it to control it, was actually really good (to my surprise). they can be changed over to twist throttle though

I had a snowmobile for a while and could never get used to sore thumb throttle lol...just wonder what the engineers reasoning is for this ergonomic change from motorcycles...

It is a direct steering machine. The primary way of turning depends on the ability to turn the handlebar. And you still need to lean the body to obtain the right balance.

This requires more active use of the handlebar’s full range of motion, and the shifting body position affects the angle between the arm and the bars to a greater extent."

yup.

Trial bikes do not lean due to low speed, high range of maneuver, twist throttle...Jet skis lean to turn, thumb throttle...what the logic? Just sayin...

I also would like a rear brake lever on the left side on the handlebar. Both my scooters have that and it is nice going down my steel gravel driveway here in the mountains. I think a lever with a cable to the rear master cylinder would be the a good solution for me.

I received a reply from OX-BRAKE about fitting their left hand brake lever to a CT125.

"Hi Vincent,

Thanks for reaching out! I am not sure if our Honda kit will work on that. Could you send over some pictures of your rear brake master cylinder/brake pedal?

Thanks!

So does anyone have a photo of the rear brake master cylinder/brake pedal with the side cover off?

I remember the brake being handy on my old 90's and 110's on rough steep hills. I may give this a look if it'll work for us on the new bikes.

I noticed that you had a lot of photos of the CT125 with the covers removed. OX-BRAKE asked for a photo of the rear brake master cylinder and pedal pedal with the covers removed.
Do you have such a photo?
They are looking to modify their existing Honda Cable OX-BRAKE (LHRB) to fit on a 2021 Honda CT125

this is all i have. pretty sure you can get a clear shot of it if you pull the cover off the rh side of the bike. its 1 screw and 1 rivet and a bit of finagling.
hope this is somewhat helpful.
