My wife is sold on getting a Honda CT125. Im going to be getting a Yamaha TW200 as i weigh 250 pounds and just don't think the 110 is going to do it for me even though I love the looks of it so much better that its not even funny..

We have a 1984 CT110 that is being passed onto my daughter and it has the low/high gearbox.

The new 125's seem amazing but it does seem like a loss not to have the low/high gearbox as my wife used it all the time for trail riding. My question is has anybody changed out the sprocket on the CT125 to the 13 tooth and what is the top comfortable cruising speed for this bike with the lower gearing?

Thanks in advance replies.

There are a few posts about it, you lose the abs and there are some really expensive speedos that are supposed to fix it. Search around, some change the back too. I have an old one, rarely use the low unless 2 of us in the bike. have been on a fair amount of single track in the woods at 7000’ and it does fine…. Twist it!
