Making the meter brighter...

Has anyone opened the dash/meter unit to evaluate making the backlight brighter. This can't be a difficult solution. I'm thinking additional LEDs should work.

If possible to add LEDs, put a switch on it so you can toggle between brightness levels for day/night use. Or even better, use a rheostat.
