Sends a shiver up my spine. I bet as many bikes have died from snow and rain as miles :(
You mean like the 1975 CT-90 that is in the outboard position and my daily driver when the roads aren't ice? If I get 48 more years out of the 125 ill either be 102 or dead... I keep it partially under the roof overhang at least

Plan is to change the oil on at least one of them this year :LOL::LOL: (ps. they will run forever with 4th world maintenance IMO, like 100 million built)

You have to live in New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada or somewhere else that has little rain and zip for humidity.

There is no where else to put the snow!!! Yes, In Arizona!!
<scouts around a campfire>

"... and after saying he'd take really good care of the bikes.... HE LEFT THEM OUT IN THE SNOW!!"

<multiple kids crying, one kid throwing up in the corner, several rocking back and forth messaging their therapists to book an appointment>

some people just don't like to take care of their stuff to the same standards as others. Its theirs, thats cool. Me? i'd never do that especially if i had a garage literally right there. There's no honor in treating possessions like garbage, but hey, to each their own. I'll never understand it either. I have a buddy that leaves his bikes outside and they are much more complex than a CT, but they always, always have issues. His KLR650 just fried half the electrical system due to corrosion on the main plug to the key. But, parts bikes come from somewhere.

🤷‍♂️

If you want to see some weathered CT125s, check out videos from owners in Japan with a few years exposure to abundant rain and ocean salt water in the air. 😬

I imagine most riders would store their bikes in a garage if they had access to one and had the space for it. That's the lucky combo though, garages aren't common in a lot of places outside of suburbs, and they sure are easy to fill up. I've got bikes stashed all over, have to check in on them every once in a while to make sure they've still there and covered. My poor Suzuki Trailhopper was a self-barn-find a few years ago, put it away over a decade prior and came back to the shed missing a wall LOL

Covers have their own problems for outside parking, ride through a western mountain town after high winds and you'll find covered motorcycles blown over in the streets and alleys.

I can attest to that, even with bungees on the covers I've had them blow off, we get some serious wind here. It will blow your bike over.

Where there is a will there is a way. A clever lad can overcome such matters. Nobody gives me money and I put in the effort to protect what it buys. My first bike a brand new Kawasaki KZ400 spent its first winter in my living room rather than rot out in the weather. Of course I wasn't marred back then :ROFLMAO:

I have 6 other Moto’s the garage (that don’t have keys) and maybe 9 pedal bikes, some cost more the CT’s… More importantly a 1981 stand up Defender game and golden tee 2K!!!
Priorities gentleman!

PS, the trails get ridden a few times per week, so there is that

Come on man the solution is E>A>S>Y. Move that arcade game and a couple of those bikes into the living room. BOOM room in the garage for the CT :unsure: :cool:

I'm with you! I'm a big guy, probably bigger than the bike was made for but I love this little bike. The 13 tooth front sprocket is the best mod yet!! I can't trll you how cool it is riding around with out having to down shift at every little incline. Yes you loose a little top speed but I was never going to reach or sustain that speed anyway. Plus the speedometer lies now so you feel like your going just as fast lol.
