Aloha from Hawaii,
Just returned from 2 1/2 months, January to March 17 at the US Navy base in Yokosuka Japan supporting work on the USS CHANCELLORSVILLE CG 62. Here are some of the motorcycles and scooters around the base, and in Yokosuka. Lots of scooters, motorcycles, Super Cubs, a few trail 110's and even ran into one guy who was on a Hunter Cub 125 which he had owned for about 6 months, he indicated the Hunter Cub is hard to get in Japan. Was not able to get to any motorcycle shops.
Enjoy the photo's:

Very cool, thanks for sharing. Looks like maybe a Honda Fusion CN250 with a top case in the snow pic? I'm a huge fan of those, Gold Wing comfort and reliability but in scooter form.

I was on the USS John S. Mccain DDG56 from 2001-04 stationed in Yokosuka. Japan was awesome! I think I have some video of the "Desert Duck" rolling off the back of the CG 62's flight deck while in the Persian Gulf together.

I work at Pearl Harbor Shipyard we had the CG-62 as an emergent request for support from SRF. I was part of a team sent over to replace a shaft, the bearing was wiped, lack of lube oil, needless to say that's not good. SRF estimated the job at 100 days, our team did it in 67 days. Did not have much time for sight-seeing but was always on the lookout for a Honda "Hunter Cub" did run into one guy in Yokosuka on one, showed him pictures of mine, he indicated the Hunter Cub is hard to find in Japan too. Thanks for the comments!

Very cool, thanks for sharing the photos.

There's something very specific that I'd like for forum members to keep an eye out for if they're in Japan - there's a Super Cub delivery rig attachment for fragile and spillable loads that I've seen only 3-4 times on the internet (ever). If anyone ever sees one of these, I'd love a high quality photo of it as they seem to be quite rare. There's a 1/12 model of it, a single C50 photo on Flickr, and an anime reference that I know of.

Not gonna lie, the modern concept one strikes me as "show me you're designing this without having any experience using this". Part of the charm of the demaeki (thanks for the name) was that it had suspension built into it, as opposed to just being a very large gimbal.

Indeed, a gimbal isn't much use preventing spills from a bowl of ramen or a drink if the bike's suspension still bucks over bumps.

Hilariously, shared a photo at work of my bike and someone suggested I buy one of these. Imagine my surprise at seeing this, because I haven't seen this photo before and I wasn't able to locate it using reverse search.
