I have tried many different things to pad the rear rack’s grab bar over the last couple of years. I was even thinking of cutting it off at one point. But I recently saw another post that mentioned that Beezdeals website had a MotorlorD Casual seat that has a slight up kick in the rear and goes over the bar. I ordered the one with horizontal stitching. You should expect that your shipping estimates will be as much as the seat itself! Crazy, right? There was a small bolt and washer included which I figured out needs to replace the bolt closest to the locking mechanism under the seat. Since it had a thinner head height. There were no instructions with the product. First attempts to close and lock the seat did not work. So I deleted the washer on the bolt thinking that that was enough to lower the seat enough to lock it. Nope. Started to file the bolt head down a little then decided to drill a hole in the bottom of the seat where the bolt was making contact. At one point I pushed the seat down and it locked but then could not unlock it. The seat was now stuck on and as hard as I tried pulling on it I couldn’t get it to come off. After several minutes of failed attempts I was starting to freak out. I then tried putting my knee with all my weight on the seat in the area where the locking mechanism was and at the same time turn the key and it finally came out off! Whew! I was sweating bullets there for a minute. I ended up drilling the hole in the bottom of the seat bigger and taking off a small portion of the rubber pads on the bottom rear of the seat. That was enough to lower it and get the latch to work properly. Then made sure to lubricate it well. I put some red electrical tape on the grab bar to see if the seat is going to rub it as the fit is very tight and I don‘t want the paint to be rubbed off. I have ridden the bike just a few miles since the install because the weather has been in the low 40’s here. But I can tell you that the seat feels comfortable and has plenty of padding and I can now sit further back in the seat, even sit on the bar area.I think this is how the seat should have been designed in the first place.
