Hey all. I got a little commuter ebike and the throttle got me. Like Ricky Bobby, I wanna go fast. But I do also want to be safe. So I've looked into things and I wanna get a Trail 125. So I've looked into getting my motorcycle license and into the specs of the Trail 125 and I'm looking forward to it all. So I just wanted to say hi and see you around!

Welcome to the forum.

Fast is relative. Relative to an eBike? This bike is a little fast. But you saw it only has 9 hp right? Relative to cars it is not fast. Imagine a slightly more powerful version of your eBike, where it still can't quite do freeway speeds, and that's what this bike is.

The CT125 rivals the performance of my 2500W electric unicycle. It's a superb 35-40 mph motorcycle. It will reach higher speeds but there's no guarantee. It runs on the smell of an oily rag and is probably the easiest motorcycle I've ever worked on to do your own servicing. I would describe this bike many ways, but fast is not one of them.

I only mention this because one of the main reasons people sell the bike is the lack of speed and power. Definitely take the time to read through the thread about what owners think of the bike.

HAHAHA well my commuter ebike tops out at 18.5 mph so 40 is Ducati to me :) I live on Cape Cod, MA with no real highway (55 speed limit) and 45 at best everywhere else. So again, its gonna be plenty fast for me. The ease of maintenance has attracted me, the features, and the history of the bike too. For a first bike its ticking all the boxes for me.

You'll probably be very happy with it then. Last I checked, Cape Cod isn't known for it's massive mountains.
