These are Shinko SR-241's in 2.75x17 size. . I found them on Ebay. There are clearance problems with anything larger than the 2.75.
The factory tires aren't bad, but for my area and use these are much better.

Yes these fit without raising the fender. I don't think the 244 is available in the 2.75 size.

That is what I get for being too lazy to go to the garage! Looks like the top speed for that tire is 62mph. Perfect for this bike that can never really hit that. I really wish the 244 came in the right size.. How do you like the 241 on road?

I like them fine on the road, they are a good tire. Easy to find, inexpensive and a good match for these bikes. Remember, the legendary Trail 90 got famous with tires like this!

They look very similar, I would expect them to be about the same. I would have bought either one, but I found the Shinko's first.
I like trials tires on these bikes.

One big difference is the IRC TR1's are P rated. Good up to 94mph (vs ~62 for the sr-241's) so they are likely a harder compound. Maybe better street, but worse dirt performance?

They should be good all around, I don't think I could tell the difference.

These bikes don't make enough hp to wear tires out quickly. I think this looks like a great option.

3.0's fit, close but they fit. I would pick a 2.75 for the front and a 3" rear. FWIW I can feel the knobs on the pavement, not bad but different, I used the stock tubes and slimed them both. I also hear lots more gravel caught in the knobs scraping the inside of the front fender too.

What size inner tube do you guys use for 3.00-17 tires? Please share your tire/tube source? Thanks!
