Hello everyone! I’m excited to join the board. You’ve all provided me with a wealth of knowledge since I started lurking here a few weeks ago.
I put a deposit down a few weeks ago at the local dealership here in Juneau, Alaska, but like everywhere else, they don’t have any clue as to when they’ll get their next shipment. They’ve had TWO arrive since the release of the Trail 125, but both are sold and sitting on display at the dealership teasing me. After calling literally every single Honda dealership in the state of AK with no luck, it seemed best to just be first on the list here in town and wait it out.
This will be my first bike, and I still need to get my motorcycle license. But, there will be plenty of time for that while I wait for it to arrive here in Southeast Alaska… Whenever that happens…
I’ll be using it as a commuter in the neighborhood for groceries and fun rides on our occasional sunny days in the rainforest. I’m really excited though to use it on our extensive network of logging roads to hunt Sitka Blacktail deer and to access rivers and creeks to chase salmon and steelhead and char. With Southeast Alaska being an archipelago of thousands of islands, it will be awesome to throw the Trail 125 in my skiff, or on the ferry network that connects all the SEAK communities, and take it to remote areas and logging roads to explore. Someday I’ll post up some trip reports…
In the meantime, here’s what I do and where I’ll go in the wilds of Southeast Alaska.
