If anything, it's probably closest to a bicycle, and I'll tell you - I have bought quite a few bike saddles in the $200+ range, and any long distance bicyclists will happily swap out their saddle and consider that "necessary overhead".
that is a really good analogy, and might cost me money. . When I did triathlons, and I was a relatively low rent triathlete, a $200 saddle, $150 for pedals, and $1,000+ wheels was not uncommon. And that was AFTER spending $3,000-$5,000 for the bike. (This was 15 years ago.)
Similarly, when you buy a Harley you are pretty much 3-4k into accessories when you buy it because the stock seat, controls, and suspension are garbage.
