I have some new shocks coming for 183. I have the maintenance manual to follow, are there any other tips or tricks out there from you shock replacer experts?

Cheers.

the exhuast side is kind of a pain in the ass.
you need to:
remove the RH cover
take out the lower muffler bolt
loosen the m8 nuts at the head/exhaust port (but not remove).
take the nut off the rear pipe mount, take the steel sleeve out.

swing the muffler out. you can support it fromt he RH handle bar as not to bend the head-pipe. (zip ties, coat hanger, rope, whatever).

then just r&r the shocks.

when putting the muffler back in its place... be careful as it needs to swing back in. its tight but it fits. thats basiacally it. Me? i use a bit of waterproof grease on the shock pivots, on everything I own.

center stand. also helps to do one shock at a time, unless they are drastically different lengths than stock
