Ride results with exaust / EFI

I thought I'd pass on the results of my minor mods on cubbie for those who have the new bikes trying to decide to bbk or not.
So on my 2021, stock engine, with both cats removed and only the NK head pipe, and a simple opening of the air box, ( a PVC tube and a radiator hose) the change was quite noticable right away, with a bit louder engine noise mostly from the air box at WOT. Seems like it lost a little grunt on the hills, and I noticed it running leaner on the AFR meter. (14.5 almost 15)
So after some great advice on here I added the EFI, and immediately a much better result at 12.7 - 13.5
Little cubbie with my weight of 215, and 6'4 height could never hit more than 52 mph in the flats, or 38 mph up the mountain road,
Now it's 55 and 45 and more grunt, and gets up there without as much labor.
I also noticed a drop in engine temperature as it was hitting 240 degrees on average and now never goes over 210
( temperature taken at the O2 cover bolt.
Just a little more information is always nice.

Any chance you could post some links/pictures of what you did? A little more power without going full BBK would be nice.

Yeah well the exhaust took the most time as there is two cats, and you have to cut the tapered part of the muffler off to remove them.
Then the NK pipe ( on eBay) slides in where the original pipe / cat was.
It takes a bit of fitting, then welding the cone peice back on.
I'm sure a after market pipe would give the same results. The intake is just removing the old rubber pipe, and open the air box with a file, I used a piece of 1 1/2 thin wall PVC pipe, and a 90 degree radiator hose, just what I had laying around.
The hose mesh, and stainless clamp looks pretty good.
EFI is what everyone is using here, ( eagle research) I did add a o2 bung, but it's not being used now.
Sorry I didn't take any more pictures.

Thanks for the correction and advice, it really made a difference over just the exaust and intake.
I was quite surprised!

Help an old brain out. He has increased the air flow to get more power. Wouldn't a bit more fuel help increase power and keep it from running too lean? This device claims to increase gas mileage by 5 to 10% so it would lean the mix out a bit....? What am missing here?

mileage results vary depending on mods, but yup. I'm getting in the high 70s/ low80s with mine but flog the piss out of it all the time & i don't care about mileage. as a point of reference, my XR150L gets about the same mileage and the motor is about the same size as my 143 and is carburated. and yes, i flog the piss out of that as well.

Wondered about leaning out an already lean mix leading to the holey piston club. No free lunches. Turning it into a 100 mpg bike wouldn't be a big concern. Just thought I was missing something and I was. Made my head hurt :ROFLMAO:

I can say after a 1000 miles of riding mountains and flats I have not noticed any mileage loss , but maybe other people have.
