Rubber plug…any ideas what goes here? It’s a hole in the speedometer bracket…is it an accessory? I give up guessing.

It's for an usb socket. Something like the pictured. I believe it depends on your territory as to how easily you can install. There are posts on here about it.

Being a bit more specific, the port size is designed for the Japanese market, which has a slightly differently set up bike. The Kitaco uber expensive USB mount will fit perfectly, but you'll have to dremel out the hole a tiny bit if you want to use the one @ems70 mentioned which is about 1/5th of the price. The reason is those threads on the one pictured will not clear the hole and are used to clamp the USB unit.

The replacement bracket is also pretty cheap if you decide to go back.

Easily done. It took less than 5 minutes with a dremel and a drum sander attachment.

As @SneakyDingo said, you use this one you do NOT have to Dremel out the hole, it fits fine. The plug-and-play wiring doesn't work on the North American models since they're missing the plug inside the headlight assembly, but you can DIY wire it up to the ignition switch wires to have it come on with the ignition, or wire it direct to the battery if you're okay with it always being powered. I'm very happy with mine, it seems like OEM level quality.

That's a lot cheaper than the one I was looking at. I was getting MSRP $70 for most of my Kitaco searches.
