Hi, I've had my Trail for about a year and a half and the seat lock mechanism is getting stuck open.
Took a look today, and the cover over the lock spring seemed too complex to open without a diagram, so I shot some penetrating oil in there which helped a little bit but it didn't fix the issue. I'm wondering if the sliding metal has gotten too snug somehow, seems like the pieces have a bit of movement.
For now I can push the other side of the spring with a tiny hex key to get it closed/loosened and the lock will close on the seat now. Realistically it's just a problem whenever I get gas but I'd like to see if anyone has encountered something like this before. I do have an aftermarket long seat but I can't figure out how the metal lock bar on it would mess up the lock mechanism like this.
