Has anyone replaced the Trail 125 gear shift lever, if so what aftermarket shift lever did you use and what is the diameter of the shift lever spline? I would like to replace the current stock lever with a folding lever. Snap a photo too if you have one. Many thanks in advance.

Ditto. These shift like my Harley with OEM heel down motion for up shifting and toe down for down shifting. I think a little bigger toe shifter with spring loaded folding tip would be better for up and down shifts like normal bikes. Harley one seem to work for me but I regress every now and then and go the wrong way after years of riding dual sports. Kinda miss the clutch lever too but will get used to it I suppose.

I have much better luck tapping down on the rear pad with my toe then struggling to push it down with my heel.

Have you tried rotating the shifter so the heel is higher. I don’t have much flexibility in my ankle either and have rotated the shifter so the heel is higher. Solved it for me.

Hi, how did you rotate the shifter? Mine would not clear the splines so I could rotate. The foot peg bracket was in the way.

To help others, here is a YouTube video. My previous searches came up empty. Have to drop the entire foot peg assembly.

Anyone rotate the heel down outta the way and bring the toe up? I ride on my balls🤔 and my heel occasionally upshifts me. Personally, I'd like just a toe shifter about another 1/2" further out.

i moved mine 1 notch up (the front) on the shaft. way better. did angie's super cub as well after she rode it, same thing. and shes tiny. all you have to do it take the 2 bolts out under the shifter side on the footpeg support, the one crashbar bolt, and loosen the 2 on the RH side of the motor (the peg support will drop) , and then get the shifter off and rotated. (i didnt watch vid). they are 12mm head bolts on the peg mounts.

Thank you, wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy wanting the toe higher and the heal lower or gone. 🤫

Well after rotating my shifter one notch so the rear toe/heel pad is higher and the front toe lever down and riding 100 miles I put it back to original position during oil change. I decided to try the toe up shift on read pad instead of heel like on my Harley and rode it that way for 200 miles over 2 days. Works better on this bike in that original position using toe to up shift using rear pad and down shift using front. Designers knew what they where about with this it seems.

if you're used to a heel toe on a harley, i could see that. But I only use the toe except coming off from a light from n, and my boot wouldn't fit under the toe part. The heel pad would snag on the heel of my boot , hence why i moved it clockwise 1 notch.
