Siderack From BEEZ - what's this S bracket for ?!!!

So I'm installing a rear rack I got off of BEEZ and it's pretty straight forward that the rack bolts into the storage box holes and the square 4 hole plate relocates the box down (the 4 holes in the plate are spaced as per the tool box, it's not the same as the rotopax spacing in case you were thinking that...).

But I can't for the life of me figure out what that S bracket is for. These side racks shouldn't just hang straight down they'd bend in in a heartbeat. Any clue ?

I'd sure like ideas to strengthen this up to hold my 5L rotopax...about 10 lbs of fuel. I need 3 points for real strength!

Does it reach to either the rear reflector mount or the side of the taillight assembly? That's where some of the other racks attach for extra support.

We'll I'll be🤓. It lines up with the rear side reflector and either of the rearward holes where the rotopax mount goes. Heck, I assumed that reflector mount was cheesy or plastic sonI didn't even try there....but it actually feels pretty stout. Hope it's not just attached to the rear fender!

Might have to relocate my claw bottle opener 😁

I think it's fairly sturdy since there's an inner and outer fender. On the Common Tread Alaska ride it looks like the same side rack they used, though with a saddle bag against it instead of fuel weight mounted to it.
