Speedo accuracy

Can you help with this at all please?

The speedo on my new CT is running very slow, approximately 10mph slow. I thought is felt wrong so I checked it with a gps app and 33mph on the speedo is 43mph on the gps.

I have switched it between miles and kilometres a few times but that does not change anything. I am thinking the wheel size may be set wrong, but I cannot see how to change that.

Any other ideas?

Many thanks.

Call your dealer. Let them sort it out, that is what the warranty is for. You might have a Friday gauge that has "bugs".

You have a UK gray market import 2023 model, right? Did your dealer replace the speedometer with an aftermarket unit, or is it the stock one?
To echo what @oldskool said, bring it up with your dealer first. Speedometers in most regions are required to report a HIGHER speed than real speed, it reporting a lower speed is a liability for speeding.

Yes, it is an import from Thailand. JA65E 2023 model. I have spoken to the importer this morning and they are looking into it. They say they will get back in a day or two. I will report back here. Funny I was wondering why the bike was so slow, but discovered I was actually going 10mph faster than shown. No good for speed cameras, as you say, and we have lots of them everywhere over here.

verify the sprocket sizing as well. If the sprockets are not stock or have been changed for some reason, it will read wrong as it pulls the signal from the output shaft of the transmission, which is a terrible design IMHO.

Everything is standard at the moment and I intend to keep it pretty much that way. I am interested to see what the Importer says shortly.
