Tail Light Guard - Poor Design

I recently purchased this tail light guard and discovered two significant problems with it. First the mounting holes do not line up at all with your bikes mounting points meaning you have to get the drill out. Additionally, the mounting hardware included is a joke and very undersized for affixing this part to remain sturdy. Second the horizontal plate that extends from the rear mounting point to the part you relocate the factory rectangular reflector too blocks your tag light by about 80% from shining on your tag at night (perfect excuse to get pulled over). I do not recommend buying this part. I could not attach the link for some reason but the pics show which one it is. I'm trying to return it to Beez Deals. I will share an update.Screenshot_20210306-032855_YouTube.jpg20210306_024426.jpg

I have the same kind of turn signal protectors that you have. The brand is Diablo. They also make a tail light protector that looks the same as the turn signal. Beez doesn't carry it. But they are out there. I'll get one eventually.

Yeah I saw that on Ebay. There was a package dealio with all 4 signal covers and the tail light cover for like $114ish. Wishing now I would have opted for that instead 😒

Wow, that's a good deal. A person on the CT125 FB group sent me a link for one on Ebay, for $94. If that includes Express Shipping, that's not a bad deal. I hope US companies start cranking farkles out soon.

I know right? Thailand is making serious bank off us on these tiny upgrades.

I ordered the same one from Beez. I don’t know what bike they are made for but it certainly is not this one. I contacted Beez about a replacement and they they said they are contacting the manufacture. That was a week ago. I am following up and will post when and if I hear.

Its been a couple days and no response yet for me either. I already generated a return request on Ebay, but am waiting to see if they will cover the return shipping. I don't want to be sending this off to the abyss and be out my original money PLUS return shipping. I have ordered a lot of stuff from Beez Deals since 2019 and they have done me right thus far. My point of contact has always been a bloke named Anton. I will share if I hear anything as well.

Anton from Beez Deals was gone to a bike event. He just answered me. And sent a install instruction video which details what I already did. But then something dawned on me. I think the 3 hole bracket might be welded onto the guard backwards? See if the other 3 holes line up with the tag holder.

I let Anton know the issue as well. He said he would exchange it. I already drilled out my tag holder though. Price of being impatient. I still don't like how it blocks out my tag light. Now I'm leary to opt for another design which could have another set of issues. Since mine is on i guess I will leave it.

OK, I’m embarrassed. Anton sent instructions which I followed and it went on perfectly. I guess you can tell that I’m not a mechanic!!

He sent me the video as well. The screw holes no way lined up for mounting on mine. But if yours worked maybe its just mine. Did yours have the microscopic screws as the hardware?

Yup. 2 tiny screws nuts and washers. But they worked.
