If you know the difference between a sammich and a sandwich, and you get an urge for something that really fulfills that need, you'll understand why I had to take my LRD across the river to the Blues City Deli in the Benton Park neighborhood of St. Louis. It's only 19 miles from my home if I could take the highway, but about 8 miles further on backroads with the LRD.

I've probably tried everything on their menu at least once. They're all so good I don't even have a favorite. They don't know how to make a bad one. Just close your eyes and point to anything on the menu or pick the daily special. If you didn't already know what a sammich is, you'll know what they are after you eat here.

Bon appetit

You're right. Guess we don't really need a reason to go for a ride, but a great place to fill your belly makes a ride even better.
I was actually thinking of a barbecue pit yesterday, it’s on a country road 30 miles from here and I was thinking of next super nice day I would ride over, as they make the best in central Kentucky. Big basket of onion rings and 4” pile of pulled pork on a huge fresh bun. Its outside dining and they smoke everything right there.

Man, you painted a great sounding picture. I can almost taste it. Hope you enjoy the ride and the meal.
