Transporting a Donkey...

Well, the LGD (Little Green Donkey) has 125 miles on him, and he is insisting on visiting other pastures... So it's time to figure out how to take him on a visit. It seems the easiest way would be to just get a carrier. However, I'm not getting any younger (62), and my truck is kinda tall, it's stock, but these days full size trucks are just tall... so I'm a little worried about that. I have multiple trailers so that seems to be the most logical... looking around at ways to corral a Donkey on a trailer, and it seems that people give high marks both to quality and ease of use to these Pit Bull Restraint systems... anyone have any experience with these? They insist you need zero tie downs, and takes less than a minute to secure the bike, once the mounting plate is installed in a truck, van, trailer. I like the sound of that in general. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these? Given they make model specific pins for the bike it seems someone might have one. Based on their website, they have sold these to people with model year 2021 for sure.

You could ride it there ;)

I've used the Pit Bull trailer restraints before (not with the CT125) and they are nice but like you mention the pins are motorcycle specific. If you're not taking the same bike out every week then you might find better value and versatility from a narrow tire chock and ratcheting tie-downs. Just don't compress the suspension so much it risks blowing out.

Consider what would be more comfortable for you, loading a hitch carrier, trailer, or bed of a truck or van. As well as the parking consideration for the transport vehicle. That's going to be unique to your situation and preferences.

I'm accustomed to dragging a trailer all over the southeast, Kentucky to Key West... parking is sometimes a hassle, and while I have more straps than a man should own, I really like the idea of just click it in, and go. For nearby places I probably would just ride it. But I plan to bring it with me when we go visit the kids and friends. I often end up dragging a trailer anyway, either delivering or helping move, any number of things. The thing a man with a truck and multiple trailers needs most is a "no stamp"... I seem to have lost mine somewhere... while I'm looking for it, I plan to bring my bike and explore some.

I have several Pit Bull products and can't speak highly enough for their quality. Last fall I purchased a hitch carrier it's amazing for carrying the Trail or Z125 but is heavy and need my wife to help put the carrier in the hitch. I've been transporting motorcycles for 5 decades and used a wheel chock and tie-downs, never had any problems, tie down the front snuggly and strap the rear wheel to keep it from moving. Pit Bull products are made in Huntsville, AL by a former BASA engineer that has been involved with motorcycle racing for decades, started in his garage at home and grown into a huge building.

This was the hitch mount I purchased and for one bike it's awesome!

Holly crap! $350!
I’m 5 years into a harbor freight carrier and it works on all my bikes, way under $100 with a 20% off

Donkey went on his first ride today (on a leash) he didn’t complain too much. Only mod I made to the straps was to put ranger bands on the hooks to ensure they can’t come loose
